Day 1
Port Denarau to Waya Island
distance 55 NM
Depart Denarau on a clean northwest line toward the Yasawas, where the coastline gives way to open sea before the reefs begin to define the water. The approach to Waya is shaped by volcanic ridgelines and deep bays that provide reliable shelter when the southeast trades freshen. Technical note: plan reef entry with strong daylight overhead, as shallow coral shelves can be difficult to read when the sun is low.
Daily Highlights:
- Early departure for a steady offshore run and midday arrival
- Afternoon swim in sand edged shallows inside the bay
- Short hike for panoramic views over the Yasawa group
- Private dinner aboard with the island as a backdrop
